Ira M. Sterling

Attorney at Law

Ira Sterling is an attorney whose practice is primarily focused on estate planning, probate, and elder law. As a graduate of University of Maine School of Law, Ira works hard to meet the legal needs of the Maine community every day.

During law school, he worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, where he provided legal representation to low-income clients in an assortment of civil and criminal matters.  Following law school, Ira has worked in higher education administration and practiced law in northern Maine, where he worked primarily on family law, criminal defense, and probate matters.  Before law school, Ira earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Guilford College where he graduated with honors.

Ira deeply cares about his clients and their well-being. Known for being a good listener, his initial conversation with a client is an opportunity to learn how he can best support them.  From providing efficient advice, to providing instructive and compassionate counsel about the estate planning or estate administration process, Ira is here as his clients’ advocate.  Ira understands the importance of preparing for the future through careful and thorough planning, and he works tirelessly to promote the needs of families and the elderly.

Ira lives in Gardiner with his family and animals.  He spends his free time playing music, cooking, baking, gardening, and spending as much time outside as possible.
