Julie Colby

Paralegal handling Longshore, Asbestos exposure claims and the fiduciary department

Julie has over thirty years of legal experience assisting workers who have been injured on the job. She has helped hundreds of Maine workers to ensure they receive the disability benefit they deserve. Julie prepares and files claims for our clients with the Longshore Administration, and works with our clients as their cases weave their way through the process. She is also registered with all of the asbestos trusts assisting Suzanne in proving our client’s entitlement to benefits for injured clients and their family members. Julie is also well known for her depth of knowledge of the worker’s compensation and civil litigation process. Most recently, she has focused on the work most valued by her – assisting Longshore clients seeking lifetime benefits or benefits for widows due to workplace exposure to asbestos and other hazardous materials. Julie is honored for the assistance she can provide with decades of experience working with injured and disabled workers and their families. In addition Julie works in our bonded fiduciary department assisting elderly and disabled clients with their finances.

Julie is most proud of her daughter, who recently obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys providing a loving home for rescue cats. An avid gardener, Julie provides Johnson Legal with fresh produce in the summer months. Her quick wit and sense of humor keeps the office in good spirits.

“The matters we handle are hard, and sometimes raw emotional work. But it’s the support we have for one another and with our clients that makes it all worthwhile. At the end of the day I feel good knowing that we care about doing the best job possible.”
